Tucked away in a leafy corner of Bloomsbury and overlooking Brunswick Square, the Foundling Museum is perfect for couples looking for a unique city wedding or civil partnership. Situated within a Grade II-listed, Georgian style building, the Museum will be exclusively yours for your big day.

From an intimate civil ceremony to a glamorous reception, the Museum can host ceremonies and wedding breakfasts for up to 100 guests and informal parties for 80 guests. Exchange your vows in the enchanting Court Room, adorned with the finest eighteenth-century Rococo interiors in London. For a grander celebration, the Georgian-style Picture Gallery awaits, nestled under artistic masterpieces. Descend the grand, sweeping staircase as a newly-wed couple and enjoy champagne and canapes across the Museum whilst we transform the space for a romantic wedding reception in one of our historic rooms.

Celebrate your marriage with a night of dancing with a DJ and uplighters in the Study Studio featuring the powerful poem by Lemn Sissay OBE “Superman was a Founding'' which references some of the world’s favourite fictional characters including Harry Potter, Cinderella, Han Solo and many more.

The Foundling Museum tells the remarkable story of the Foundling Hospital, established in the 18th century by Thomas Coram to care for children whose parents couldn’t take care of them. The artist William Hogarth and the composer George Frideric Handel played a big part in realising Coram’s vision. Together, they transformed the Hospital into the UK’s first public art gallery, and one of London’s most fashionable venues.

What you say:

Thank you so much for all your help with our wedding. I loved every minute and was so happy that we had found such a beautiful venue. The Museum staff were so kind and pleasant to work with, the entire experience was a joy.

Madeleine Morlet

We were married at the Foundling Museum and could not have been more delighted with every aspect of the day. The setting is simply beautiful, and with flowers the romance of the Picture Gallery and the Court Room comes fully alive. We would unreservedly recommend the venue to anyone and were particularly pleased that our wedding could contribute to the charitable work of the Museum.

Eamon McCrory

When we started to look for the perfect venue for our wedding, we had a clear picture in our minds of what we wanted: somewhere intimate and classically romantic, whilst at the same time interesting and unique. The Foundling Museum offered us all of these qualities. From the moment we stepped inside the Court Room on our first tour around the venue, we knew that we wanted to become husband and wife in that room.

Natalie Turner

Our wedding at the Foundling Museum was absolutely incredible. I knew from the moment we got engaged it was the right place for us and it was special and joyful and just unique against the light/dark backdrop of the Museum and all it holds and represents.

What we say:

Fancy getting married in a museum? Especially if you are a fan of the late, great Handel - this is a beautiful venue with many features that make it unique. Exclusive access to the whole museum is available on Mondays or after 6pm. Definitely a great reception venue in it's own right too.
